Danny Mitchell: Training Blog Week 5/6

Posted in INTERVIEWS by admin

Fightkit sponsored Danny Mitchell has a huge fight coming up against the highly touted Gunnar Nelson at Cage Contender in Manchester on August 28th.

Danny will be keeping everyone up to date with how his training camp is going in the run up to the fight. Here is the fourth post:

Another week in the bag and another week closer to the fight. Training is showing no signs of slowing down and there has been a slight step up in the intensity to prepare me for the final 2 weeks of hard graft before I spent the last week just monitoring my weight and resting up for the big day (when I say big day I don’t mean the fight I mean the eating marathon that will occur the day after the fight).

It’s been a hard week with plenty of mma sparring down at the fight factory, Neil Wain is there also preparing for his upcoming fights and its never fun being underneath that guy let me tell you!

My strength and conditioning work is looking good and I am retaining and even improving my strength even though we have stepped up the endurance side of things.

Really worked hard this week and I am feeling it. Took a day off on Friday and went to see my friends Nick and Jonny Goodliffe to drill a bit of gi technique and have a steady technical roll. Not really to help me for the fight but just to clear my mind and give me something different to do.

My fun continued as I headed up to Combat Challenge in Bradford and got roped into some commentating with Andy Farrell. It was the first time I have done it but it was cool as f$%k and had a right laugh.

Sunday was my birthday so had a pretty chilled weekend and rested up for the pain ahead. If you want to get me a nice present just send me some money to my paypal account thanks.

Danny
